How to Barbecue 'with a twist'

Barbecues are a polular way to spend the evening with friends - whilst also enjoying tasty food.

Each bar-b-q is usually a good fun family event. Here are five ways to make your routine evening BBQ a rather more unique experience :

one ) Who said you have got to only B.B.Q beef? There is actually a lot that may be done with bread or fruit and veg over an exposed griddle.

two ) A way to make BBQs and griddling better to all the family is to utilise pastry cutters for what ever it is you are griddling. It is down to you or your children what design and kind of food you use. Combos can be good fun as you can mix it up any way you would like and it creates a great game for the youngsters mixing different items of bread, fruit and vegetables.

three ) Noone would disagree with the sentiment that variety is the spice of life so if you only ever cook the standard sausages and steaks why don't you try something else like a nice bit of cod or a tempting bit of venison.

four ) Barbecues shouldn't be rushed, they are meant to be enjoyable, lots of the die hard bar-b-cue fans out there will say sauting is abusive to the grilling factors. Bbq's should represent a technique of slow cooking on low to powerful heat and while you wait for the food to griddle its a excellent chance to have a good giggle with who ever is in your party be it pals and family.

five ) When we were all young children our moms told us never to play with our food, well there's an except to each rule isn't there? Bar-b-q games are a good way to have very good fun while cooking.

Of course, if you have a large party to entertain, and want to REALLY relax, you can leave it to the professionals - I often use these guys: Hog Roasts - you can sit back and really enjoy the fun safe in the knowledge that your guests are being server top quality roast pork, cooked to perfection.

Personally, I prefer pork to beef - burgers are great, but well marinaded pork chops are far better in my book.
